Jesús Emeterio López (born September 12, 1987Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico) is a professional baseball shortstop who plays in the San Diego Padres organization. López signed with the Padres as a non-drafted free agent on July 3, 2004.
inIn his first professional season, 2006, López split time between the Class-A Fort Wayne Wizards and the Short-Season Eugene Emeralds. López batted .224 with 14 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 33 RBIs in 95 games. He tied for second on the Emeralds in triples with two.
López played the entire 2007 season with the Class-A Fort Wayne Wizards of the Midwest League. He hit .232 with 88 hits, 16 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 39 RBIs and 43 walks in 117 games.
In 2008 López split the season between the Class-A Advanced Lake Elsinore Storm and the Double-A San Antonio Missions. With Lake Elsinore, López hit .248 with 84 hits, 13 doubles, two home runs, 38 RBIs and two stolen bases in 99 games. With the Missions López batted .356 with 21 hits, two doubles, one triple and 10 RBIs in 18 games. He went a combined .264 with 105 hits, 15 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 48 RBIs in 117 games.
Spending the entire 2009 season with the Double-A San Antonio Missions of the Texas League, López hit .232 with 60 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, one home run, 23 RBIs and three stolen bases. At the end of the season López participated in the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico and currently plays for the Algodoneros de Guasave.
